Shari has a passion for 18th century living history.
Her interest in 18th century life began with fife and drum music while her
children were playing in a junior corp. They graduated to a recreated
Colonial militia unit in upstate New York and began an exploration into
the many aspects of family life in the 18th century.
Since 1993, she has been researching and collecting reproduction toys and games, making many herself. Shari is a teacher by profession; having homeschooled her own four children for 15 years, and then teaching in public high school for 9 years. She has attended many workshops but most of her expertise comes from years of engaging school groups and the public at historic events. Shari has presented programs at many historic sites including Fort Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Van Allan House, New Paltz Historic District, Fort Lee, Manhattan VanAlan House, Montauk Lighthouse, Johnson Hall, Fort Johnson, Fort Klock, Fort Niagara, New Windsor Cantonment, Mount Gulian, and more.
